About this deal

Because the webcam wouldn't sit tight in the clip, I had to manually adjust the camera countless times (and yes, people on my calls noticed). Some movement is understandable, as you need to adjust your camera to capture different angles, but this felt excessive. If you’re after a killer gaming webcam, then I’d recommend taking a look at the Razer Kiyo Pro instead. It’s actually now a little cheaper than the Logitech Brio 500 and is ideal for work calls during the day and streaming your play in the evening. You get a slightly larger field of view than with the Brio although the number of megapixels in the camera itself is slightly lower. Compatible With: Certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet, and works with Skype, Messenger, and other video platforms

It’s on the point of the Logitech Brio 500 performance where I begin to get a little puzzled. It is, by and large, a solid webcam with good levels of detail and reasonably smooth motion, although it is a bit difficult to see why you’d buy a 1080p/30fps webcam that costs this much when there are zillions of other choices for more reasonable costs. The Brio 500 follows the top-level specs of previous mid-to-high-tier webcams. It can record video or livestream in 1080p at 30fps, or 720p at twice the frames. These core specs are identical to the webcam’s predecessor, the Logitech c922 Pro, but that’s OK. While a bump 1080p/60 would have been appreciated for Twitch streaming and other video projects, these settings offer what most video conferencing platforms can handle—Zoom and Microsoft Teams support up to 1080p/30fps, while Google Meet taps out at 720p/30fps. If you use your webcam for work, you'll be satisfied with the Brio 500's video quality and its flexibility in reading your environment. While the Logitech Brio 500 might be quite pricey, it is very much worth it. Not only did it look great sitting on my desk but it delivered on its promises as well, massively improving the quality of my video calls day to day. The setup couldn’t be simpler, the software is easy to navigate and the array of features made everything fuss-free. My only issue was that the magnet on the camera wasn't quite strong enough but that’s hardly a dealbreaker in an otherwise excellent piece of home office kit. Logitech Brio 500 review: also consider

Brio 500 1080p HDR Webcam with Show Mode | Logitech

In use, I was pleased to see that the video quality was on point. My face looked clear, sharp and well-focused while the colours were bright without being oversaturated even if they could sometimes be a little dull. You could see everything you needed to in the shot whatever the time of day or whatever the weather outside.

One really handy feature is Light Correction which brightens up the image even when you’re sitting in a poorly lit space. Auto framing is another feature to mention because it managed to keep me at the centre of the shot at all times, and it even works when you move around or stand up which will come particularly in handy if you do a lot of presenting on video calls. I assumed that a mainstream "name" brand would work with all operating systems, but this model does not work with Linux. So I cannot review any of the camera's ability, but let this be a cautionary tale for others. The Logitech Brio 500 is an odd webcam to recommend. On the one hand, it’s a modern, forward-thinking webcam with a sleek chassis that also happens to be especially helpful to the environment. This, in theory, would make it an easy sell, alongside the decent options that Logi’s Tune software provides and the large FOV to capture as much of your surroundings as possible. I was using C22 Pro version (Which is previous model by Logitech). C22 Pro was giving superb quality. I thought this is new model so it should give more better picture quality but instead its worst. Also it does not support logicapture software which is again a very bad thing. The Brio 500 also supports an enhanced version of “LightSight,” a matching feature that automatically optimizes and enhances the lighting of your webcam shot. This feature is available in previous Logitech webcams (and many others), so it may not seem like a big change. The Brio 500’s version of the feature is much better than prior models, however, thanks to high-dynamic range (HDR) support.
