The ideas were excellent, Priscilla, and had I not known what Natalie Barelli is capable of, I probably would have rated hers higher. To be fair, I think Missing Molly was one of her earliest works. She studied teaching instead and used her holidays to work on her writing career and complete a Masters’ degree. In between raising three children, working for her husband and renovating houses, she has published six novels. She lives in Sydney, Australia. Nicole Trope went to university to study Law but realised the error of her ways when she did very badly on her first law essay because, as her professor pointed out, ‘It’s not meant to be a story.’ And whilst she confessed that she didn’t know exactly where it was going, that in itself is what helped attract her to the role of Claudia and the show.

The House Across the Street: is the suspicion-heavy Channel 5 drama based on a true story or a book? Nicole Trope went to university to study Law but realised the error of her ways when she did very badly on her first law essay because-as her professor pointed out- ‘It’s not meant to be a story.’ She studied teaching instead and used her holidays to work on her writing career and complete a Masters’ degree in Children’s Literature. After the birth of her first child she stayed home full time to write and raise children, renovate houses and build a business with her husband. I did! 😊 reading The Art of War:A Novel, at the mo, really good book, same sort of story as Captain Carroli’s Mandolin if you ever read that.

This is how you do thrillers. OMG, this story was amazing… Edge-of-your-seat-nail-biting read.’ Goodreads reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I don't remember the last time a domestic thriller made me feel hopeful about the universe - but this one changed that. I loved everything about this book! Thank you, Jayme, for putting this one on my radar, as I'm not sure I would have read it otherwise! And you’re right about these two–both intriguing, just not home runs. After having so many of those lately, I was hoping for more of the same.

Glad to hear The Family Across the Street appeals to you. It was a good book, just not what I anticipated from the blurb. In The Family Across the Street, a suburban neighborhood is shattered when a dark secret of domestic abuse within the seemingly perfect West family is revealed. 3 Sentence SummaryThe House Across the Street cast is led by Scottish star Shirley Henderson, who’s known for everything from Trainspotting to Bridget Jones’s Diary and, of course, as the iconic and ever-melancholic Moaning Myrtle in the Harry Potter films. She plays Claudia, who has survived a battle with cancer and feels distant from her son, whom she co-parents with ex-husband Leon. Were it not for the villain in Missing Molly and the way he inserted himself into the story, I think I would have enjoyed that one more. She opened her arms and I showed her the gun. I could have made a different choice. I could have stepped into those arms and changed my life.” There are just four episodes in The House Across the Street, mirroring the amount seen in recent BBC hits Inside Man and The Capture season 2. Whilst this might not sound like a lot, there’s plenty of time to build up suspicion as Claudia’s investigation journeys towards what looks set to be an emotional conclusion. The Family Across the Street” took a minute for me to get into it, but once I did, I needed to know what happened.

This fast-paced domestic psychological thriller is heart pounding and full of terror. With 4 POVs, there are so many stories and thoughts you will not be able to put it down. As a family across the street appear oddly out of sync of their normal routine to their neighbor Gladys, she begins to investigate. She finds several reasons to appear at Katherine and John West's doorstep to see if they are okay and each time they are met with "Now is not a good time". Her husband is suffering a progressive illness and accuses her of meddling, but encourages her to go with her instinct. The curiosity gets the best of Gladys when she thinks of all the scenarios that could be played out across the street. She is more concerned for the couple's 5 year old twins. After she sees a child's hand in the window holding a sign "help", she is torn. Sometimes, the most perfect families are hiding the most terrible secrets. How well do you know the people next door? There are a number of characters who surprise you. When the book started, I wasn’t sure how I felt about and delivery driver, Logan, or neighbor, Gladys, but both become standout characters and steal the show. I’m not sure what it says about me that I was more invested in them than Katherine, the woman in danger. Sounds like a lovely, relaxing vacation Mae. I don’t think I’ll add either of these books to my tbr, as both are giving me “been there, done that” vibes. Feeling like you're not getting your money's worth from your scented candles? These common candle mistakes may be the reason why Her journey from studying Law to pursuing a career in writing emphasizes the importance of following one’s creative instincts.
