About this deal

Shame on Armani for releasing so redundant stuff just for the sake of releasing something new, instead of releasing a banger once in every while like Dior or Chanel. I haven't owned anything from the code line since the original, but I bought 2 bottles of this on the spot. I’m a sucker for caraway notes; it adds a sort of “off”-ness that can suddenly make an otherwise normal scent challenging.

This newly conceived bottle is refillable, demonstrating Giorgio Armani’s mindfulness of the planet. It’s a leap from the original Armani Code, and it’s a significant step up from Armani Code Eau de Parfum.

There is nothing wrong with it per se but as I have already said, this smells identical to many others readily available and in many cases cheaper with equal if not better performance. Deep smell, so obviously something that reminds me of evenings similar to Sauvage Elixir, but works well at day too.

It projects well and gives initially a typical sweet PR One Million vibe, but once it is settled, it grows to a more mature and rich version of that. For this type of DNA I would simply go with Wanted By Night that is a true beast hopefully they never reformulated that. But if you are able to take the sour with the sweet, you here get a wonderful, classic masculine perfume, just after the book. I was a fan of Code when it first appeared, but my girlfriend at the time preferred ADG, which I really didn't like and still don't, but I indulged her.I didn’t look at the notes and picked up the iris, tonka and slight woodiness stood out the most with a subtle aromatic undertone. The perfect fit for a man who is charismatic and eloquent, the Giorgio Armani Code Profumo fragrance adds an immaculate finishing touch to this already suave gent, with its chic blend of refined oriental nuances. Low quality iris, sickingly sweet (low quality) tonka bean, clary sage making the composition venture into the basic shower gel territory. If you don't like soapy scents, Armani Code EDP may be better for you as the iris is very prominent in this. With Armani Code Profumo, the first parfum of Armani Code, the iconic scent of seduction now reaches incandescence.

The travel spray come in handy because you will need to re-apply because it sadly doesnt last very long. Although in the same vein, I think it's badly missing the charm of the OG, and the allure of Absolu. If you want something similar but smoother and for a more mature vibe, absolu is better and the one I prefer of the line. I only wore if once, liked it but didn’t apply it again until 4 months later because it was at the back of my collection.I hadn't wore it for maybe 6 months or so and gifted half a bottle to a colleague who was just starting out on their frag journey.

I’ve looked online and Nordstrom and Macys both don’t carry it online anymore it says item is no longer available. Overall, I think I still like Absolu better, but after a week of wearing this, I'm glad I have this as well. It’s a still a beast just like the original bottle I had in 2016 so not sure about people complaining about reformulation if they even did that.If you want something that will work from 7am in the office to 7pm in the after hours catching a drink or two with work colleagues, this will do it nicely. Maybe it's the fact that Armani has listed Iris as one of the notes and people just assume that is what they are smelling?
