So.... the IEEE 802.3bz firmware "feature" upgrade from the draft Nbase-T, was promised by Intel in year 2015 (at Intel's x550 product launch) - And the IEEE 802.3bz standard was ratified in year 2016 - But, I can't find that firmware anywhere, now 6 years later in year 2022? Restrictions. Except as authorized above, You will not: (a) use or modify the Materials in any other way; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Materials provided in object form (except and only as specifically required under Section 2.5), or (c) use the Materials to violate or aid in the violation of any international human right. In my academic pursuits, I earned a BSc in Information Systems Design from UCLAN, before advancing my learning with a Master’s Degree in Computing. This advanced study also included Cisco CCNA accreditation, further demonstrating my commitment to understanding and staying ahead of the technology curve. Governing Law; Jurisdiction. Thank you for informing me that the end-user has full supported control in Windows over setting 2.5g and 5.0g link speeds as of Windows Intel wired drivers release 25.4 (and higher). We had already observed this feature working in our labs. The support didn't drop, I have run an X540 card for quite some time. It was just never made to work in the x53s x2 or x4 slots.CONFIDENTIALITY. This Agreement and the Materials are Intel confidential information and subject to Your valid corporate non-disclosure agreement with Intel (CNDA). Except as authorized in Section 2.1, you must not disclose this information to anyone, including the U.S. government. This Agreement will not become effective, or will automatically terminate, in the absence of a CNDA. Sets the number of buffers used by the driver when copying data to the protocol memory. Increasing this value can enhance the receive performance, but also consumes system memory. Try to install the adapter in a slot on a bus by itself. If add-in cards share a bus, they compete for bus bandwidth. NBASE-T technology can increase network speeds of 2.5 Gb/s or 5 Gb/s using existing CAT 5e/CAT 6 cables at lengths up to 100 m. Intel® PROSet for WindowsDevice Manager includes an Advanced tab with Settings options and definitions:Note: IEEE 802.3bz has been the official ratified standard of 2.5g and 5.0 link speeds for over 5-years now. Provides 2.5 GbE and 5.0 GbE link speeds over CAT5e/CAT6 cabling deployments. Firmware upgradable to IEEE 802.3bz(1) On: Driver does wait for Auto Negotiation. If the speed is not set to Auto Negotiation, the driver waits for a short time for link to complete and then reports the link state.

Intel’s NBASE-T technology can be firmware upgraded to support the emerging IEEE 802.3bz specification(1).

When copying a file from one system to another (1:1) using one TCP session, throughput is significantly lower than doing multiple simultaneous TCP sessions. Low throughput performance on 1:1 networks is because of latency inherent in a single TCP/IP session. A few file transfer applications support multiple simultaneous TCP streams. Some examples are: gFTP*and FDT*.
